The directory and the fee index are built from filings firms made to the Department of Labor, not from anything firms told us. If we have read one wrongly, we want to know, and any firm can claim its profile and publish its own pricing.
A figure from the filings changes only when the filing was misread. The wrong auditor matched to a plan, an amended return we have not picked up, a plan counted in the wrong year. We will not change a number because a firm would prefer a different one: it is their own filing, and the whole point of the page is that it reports what was filed.
Self-reported fields change on request, at any time, with no review beyond checking the firm is who it says it is. Pricing, turnaround, scope and the rest are the firm’s own statements and are labelled that way wherever they appear.
Every correction is logged with its date and the reason, and the log is what the methodology section on the fee index refers to.
There is nothing to buy. No placement, no featured slot, no fee to appear or to rank higher. Rank comes from the filings and nothing else moves it. 401kaudithelp.com is operated by Ledgerline Audit. Rankings are computed from public Form 5500 data and are not influenced by Ledgerline.
It is worth knowing that most firms show no fee figure at all. A Form 5500 records an audit fee only when the plan paid it, so only 13.2% of audited filings carry one. A blank there is a limit of the data, not a finding about the firm.
